Services
-
A core focus of my work at Collingwood Yards is supporting the mental health and wellbeing of artists, drawing on my experience counselling staff and students at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
-
I’m a proud member of the LGBTIQA+ community and offer mental health care that is affirming of people’s diverse genders, sexualities, neurotypes, and relationships.
-
I have substantial experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and am committed to ongoing learning in culturally safe and responsive mental health care.
-
I offer focused courses of trauma psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD and other mental health or wellbeing concerns that have unresolved events or attachment wounds at their origin.
-
I also offer therapy sessions for mental health professionals and trainees seeking support for their professional development, personal healing, or acute or unresolved experiences arising in response to their clinical practice.
Therapeutic Approach
My treatment philosophy is informed by extensive training in Deep Brain Reorienting and other body-centred approaches that honour our inherent capacity for healing and wellbeing.
Deep Brain Reorienting
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a neuroscientifically guided mind-body treatment for trauma-related conditions, developed by Dr Frank Corrigan.
Embedded within an attuned therapeutic relationship, it offers a gentle and effective approach for the healing of emotional shock, attachment wounding, and other adverse experiences.
-
DBR has demonstrated a strong effect size with minimal dropouts in the preliminary findings of an ongoing randomised controlled trial for the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (Kearney et al., 2023).
It can also be used when clinically indicated for other types of mental health or wellbeing concerns, if events or attachment wounds appear to be responsible for the symptoms.
-
DBR is generally well tolerated by clients because it allows them to process and heal from traumatic experiences without needing to talk about what happened. And its structured sequence helps to minimise the risk of overwhelming distress during the session.
-
I completed DBR Levels 1 to 3 across 2021 and 2022 plus an additional experiential group with Frank from 2021 to 2024.
I’ve also served as a senior assistant in several online and in-person trainings with Frank and Dr Andy Harkin since 2022, supporting my development as a DBR consultant.
I'm currently attending a monthly DBR practitioner consultation group with Frank, as well as regular consultation-of-consultation sessions with Frank and other Australian DBR consultants.

Tier 1 is the fee for a standard 50-minute consultation recommended by the Australian Psychological Society, and would be the amount to pay if you are financially well-resourced or on a relatively high income.
Tier 2 is offered to people on lower incomes, and Tier 3 is for full-time students and holders of a Health Care Card.
If you can afford to pay a higher tier, please do so, as this supports the financial viability of my practice while enabling me to continue to offer more accessible rates to those who need it.
-
Please let me know if your financial circumstances change, and we can adjust your fee tier up or down accordingly.
-
Fees are payable by card and processed online at the end of your appointment.
-
Fees are subject to change, and are usually adjusted at the start of each financial year in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
Medicare & Insurance
-
You need to be referred by your GP or psychiatrist to access rebates through Medicare or your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Your GP will determine your eligibility and complete a Mental Health Treatment Plan with you to support the referral.
Please email (or arrange for your GP to email) a copy of your referral documents to me ahead of your appointment.
-
You can access up to 10 sessions per calendar year when clinically indicated under your Mental Health Treatment Plan.
-
The Medicare benefit amount is currently $141.85.
The OSHC amount varies between insurers. Allianz and Medibank match the Medicare benefit amount, while Bupa provides a higher rebate of $166.85, which reduces the Tier 3 out-of-pocket cost to $59.58. Contact your insurer for specific details.
-
This will depend on your coverage. Please check with your insurer and let me know if you will be submitting a claim to them so that I can use the appropriate item number on your invoice.
-
After payment of the consultation fee, I can submit the Medicare patient claim on your behalf. You will need to submit OSHC or private health insurance claims directly to your insurer.
